Voter Engagement Internship 

Under my leadership; The University of Wisconsin Hillel Foundation hosted Voting Organizers to increase student voting and civic engagement amongst college students and other young voters. The University of Wisconsin Hillel is passionate about creating a civic engagement program focused on identifying, engaging, and empowering the next generation of informed voters. As a team, we are dedicated to identifying emerging campus leaders, engaging them, and supporting them with the skills and resources they need to empower their peers and community members to create a lifetime voting habit. 

 

Organizers will utilize best-in-class resources to learn about student voting behaviors, develop projects to register voters, increase voter turnout, and deepen students’ engagement in the civic life of their community through college and beyond.

The University of Wisconsin Hillel Voter Engagement Internship won the Hillel International 2020 Award, for campus Hillels that created outstanding programs since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic to support students.

Civic Café

UW Hillel Civic Café is a 60 to 90-minute facilitated conversation over lunch, giving students the opportunity to engage and expand on topics outside the classroom. Civic Café encourages civic participation beyond the polls by making education accessible, engaging, and timely. 

Understanding the current political landscape can be intimidating for anyone. UW Hillel Civic Cafés are designed for the campus community to engage with these topics at a level playing field. To us, it doesn’t matter if a participant is an expert on the material, we just want to provide co-curricular educational opportunities for students to broaden their perspectives.  

Our goal is to spread knowledge, broaden student perspective, and be partners in creating civically engaged graduates. We are open to a wide variety of topics. Here is a list of some students we know are interested in:
